Purpose of the weather seal for different type of plug valves :

– Specially shaped and constructed to protect the stem, gland and packing from hostile environments that can lead to corrosion.

– Eliminates the trash pocket between the cover and stem to provide optimum environmental corrosion protection.

Since being involved in valve maintenance industries, we decided to manufacture those weather seal, here in Quebec, to increase life expectancy of most of the valve installed over the last 25 years. From our experience on the field, we have found that most of the valves were seize at the neck of the stem. Replacing the weather seal and proper maintenance practice, will ease the valve operation. The direct result of this simple practice is the down cost on valve replacement. To this day we have narrowed the gap to cover most of the Rockwell/Nordstrom valves found on site. With a photo of the valve, it’s class and size, we can supply the weather seal needed.

Socket set for plug valves

At the beginning, this socket set was created to ease the work of the technician when working on seized plug valves.

The physical effort to revive the mobility of these valves is huge and very demanding over time for the physical health of technician.

Recognizing the problems caused by localized corrosion at the neck of the valve stem, we had to find an efficient, powerful and safe way to fix the problem.

Therefore, we designed the socket set to help evenly distribute torque across the stem for all sizes of Plug Valves. It is used when Plug Valves becomes too difficult to operate with standard Valve wrench.

Acquiring this tool will reduce Valve replacement, Disruption of services, and Risk of injury.

Torque wrench of 0 – 150 ft. lb. Required with 1/2’’ input drive. Handle or other anchor plate serves as a “reaction bar” and must be placed against a strong fixed object.

NPS Adaptors

NPS Adaptors or pipe reducers are often used with high head extensions for wrench operated valves installed underground or in other inaccessible location to permit sealant injection.

These adaptors are made with C12L14 steel. Its 1 ¼’’ hexagonal shape on the female side, make it easy to screw on.
With our experience on the field, we have chosen to only manufacture and supply an adaptor with a half inch (1/2 – 12.7 mm) NPT threads on the female side of  it.

Half inch is the perfect threads and pipe size for sealant injection extension. (We strongly suggest using Sch. 80 pipe grade for injection extension)

For the NPS male side of the adaptor, it is available in four (4) dimension;
1 1⁄4″ (31.75 mm) – 3/8″ (9.525 mm) – 1⁄2″ (12.7 mm) – 3⁄4″ (19.05 mm)
to suit different valve models and sizes.
